Busy, by Angeline Anyango

The following poem was written as part of a poetry-writing event at Spurgeons Academy, to mark World Poetry Day

I have got some dust in my eye

A crocodile biting my leg

A goat got into the garden

There’s a porcupine in the cooking pot

The corn is drying on the rock

The chief has called me to court

I have to go to my mother-in-law’s funeral

I am busy
