The Mothers Program focuses on empowering women to prevent children from ending up on the streets. Women are trained in various income-generating skills. Skills such as Making reusable sanitary pads, peanut butter making, tie and dye, smoking of fish and chicken, sewing and crocheting are taught so that the women are empowered to set up small businesses for themselves.
Through this program, 7 children have completed their grade 12 which is a major achievement for the women and demonstrates their commitment.
The program is run in 4 locations within Lusaka. Each location is a densely populated area with many residents struggling to overcome poverty. In 2024, 140 women took part in the program across those 4 locations, and 1,120 children were impacted through the incomes that their mothers were able to generate.
