Children’s Health day – Chisomo

The Chisomo Drop-In Center, in the heart of Lusaka, Zambia, provides daily support to children still living on the streets, offering food, medical care, counseling, and educational activities. In 2024, the center provided support for 2880 young people, of which 487 were girls and 2403 were boys. 1,382,400 hot meals were served, as well as all young people having access to bathing facilities, and to counselling. Additionally, 2 health days were held, when local volunteer medical staff attended and gave each young person a health screening, and access to follow-up health care as needed.

Activities conducted during the health day included: Feeding, Bathing, Clothes Washing, Health check-ups, Counseling, Mental health talks

One of the services Chisomo offers is personal hygiene. Under personal hygiene the children are taught personal hair grooming, here is one of our boy providing a haircut to his friend
