E4All grant used by PSD-Nepal, part 2

As a result of the match-funded Big Give fundraising appeal in December 2023, CRED was able to build up an ‘Education 4 All’ pot of almost £35,000 which was distributed to partners for use in education-related programmes. This is the second of three blogs in which we hear from Bishnu Bhatta in Nepal about how PSD-Nepal used the money.

Career counselling: During the career counselling session, the children were asked about how they see themselves in their future. Some of the examples are given below (names have been changed).

“I am Binsa. I have recently completed my school level. Since my childhood I was interested in fashion designing and want to build my career as a well-known fashion designer. You can see the picture of my art competition; I tried to draw what I had envisioned. Because of the time constrain, it isn’t exactly what I’ve wanted to draw. I know, I can and I will do far better, but I need your support to achieve my goal. I want to become financially independent and help people in need. Please support me in any form to help me achieve my dream and make my future bright. Pursuing a Fashion Design degree in college is my dream, but I lack the financial means to make it happen. I’m reaching out politely to request for your support to enable me to pursue my education.”

“I am Ehani. I am 19 years old and I have completed my +2. Now I want to study health assistant, become independent and help my brothers and sisters. So, I am preparing for it. Therefore I would be grateful and thankful if I get any kind of support that will help my future.” I have a strong passion for studying health assistance and wish to pursue a degree, but financial limitations are a challenge. I would be grateful for your assistance to support my education journey.”

“I am Chaha. I am 16 years old. I just finish my SEE (Secondary Education Exam). My aim is to become a nurse and work in that field. I want to help people in need and also my brothers and sisters here when I will be independent. I would appreciate any support that will help me build my career.” Pursuing a nursing degree in college is my dream, but I lack the financial means to make it happen. I’m reaching out politely to ask for your support to enable me to pursue my education.”

“It’s me Dhanvi. I was upgraded in class 10 recently. My future aim is to become doctor. After passing SEE I will be taking science subject to achieve my goal. I want to become doctor because I want to help people who are suffering from health issues in their life. I would also love to treat my brothers and sisters like M and treat her seizure. This is why I want to become a doctor. Continuing my studies in medical field at college is important to me, but I lack the financial resources to do so. I’m politely asking for your support in the form of scholarships or funding to help me pursue my educational aspirations.”

“I am Prasad and I am 17 years old. Recently I have completed my SEE and I am waiting for my result. I want to study science and set my carrier as a doctor. Once I become a doctor, I will get a job and then help my brothers and sister with their life. I would be delighted if I get any support and I will make effort as per needed. I’m eager to further my education with a degree in Medicine, but financial constraints are holding me back. I’m respectfully seeking your support to make my dream of attending college a reality.”

“I am Kumar studying in grade 10. I am really interested in IT and want to pursue it as my career. I love technology and want to learn a lot more about it. I think technology is super important in today’s world. Any guidance and support would mean a lot to fulfill my aspiration in the field id IT. I’m excited about the opportunity to study IT in college, but financial difficulties are preventing me from moving forward. I’m kindly requesting any assistance to help me achieve my educational dreams. I want to become financially secure then I will help my brothers and sisters in future with all my heart.”
