The children who are in Spurgeons Academy lower primary classes recently enjoyed a school outing to two locations in Nairobi. Their first port of call was to the city’s domestic airport where they were able to see some of the planes coming in to land. This airport only has small aircraft which meant that the children were able to get up much closer to the planes than would have been possible at the city’s main international airport.
After the airport, the children went to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage and safari walk which is on the edge of the National Park. Here they were able to see close up a whole range of animals which are indigenous to Kenya. For many of the children this was the first time that they had ever seen these animals, and the first time that they had seen an aeroplane on the ground and stationary, rather than just flying overhead. A memorable day in many ways.
