History of CRED
- Established as a trust on 3rd November 1997.
- Phase 1 – getting the development agenda into the classroom of UK schools – striving to ensure that this agenda was included as part of the school curriculum.
- Phase 2 – taking the classroom out into the developing world – running trips with students from UK schools to visit and participate with some of our partner projects.
- Phase 3 – awareness-raising, specialised assistance, context-sensitive advocacy, open access to financial donations for the partners and facilitating long-term relationship between partner and donor.
- Phase 4 – enter a partnership with Links International. See across for explanation.
Our invitation to you is to join us on this journey…
Governance Structure
CRED Foundation now exists in collaboration with Links International, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation – Reg Charity No. 1168872. CRED Foundation remains as a unique operation but under the guise of an ‘Acts 4 You’ project within Links International such that we can retain our unique identity but within their governance and financial structures.
Links International are a larger charity than CRED, who also operate with various partners across the world and who have a very similar Christian-based ethos to us. They have a larger and more sustainable infrastructure in place and can provide the background systems and support to sustain the work that CRED does into the future, enabling CRED to focus on what it does best in delivering great support and input to the partners whom we value so dearly.
