The children, all from the local communities that have some of the lowest levels of income in the city, are those who otherwise can’t afford a regular meal. They get a lunchtime meal and are also given help with schooling costs. |

Butterfly Space projects provide lunch to 230 children across 5 sites. Four of these are nursery schools, including one at the Mpamba Centre for disabled adults, and the fifth site is Stepping Stones Primary School. |

Ellilta provides a range of support to its beneficiaries that include provision of food items. The school-age children get access to after-school sessions; pre-school children attend day care whilst their mothers are on the rehabilitation programme, and women who are struggling financially get given monthly food parcels. |

At the Comfort Primary school for ex-street kids, GNPDR feeds the children a lunch time meal every school day of the week, This ensures that all children get at least one meal per day, and also helps them concentrate better in lessons. |

As well as providing high-quality education for children who can’t afford to go to state-run schools, Spurgeons Academy also provides the children with porridge for breakfast, and githeri for lunch. And for child-headed households, food parcels are available to get the children through the weekends. |
The Voice School Trust (TVST)Usa River, Arusha, TanzaniaFeeding 68 children |
TVST runs a weekend programme for local children from impoverished families. This includes two meals per day, homework help, arts, crafts and games. The meals are the only ones that the children reliably get at weekends. |
