James is a 17 yrs old boy coming from Nakonde in Northern province of Zambia. He is a double orphan, coming from a family of 5 children and he being the 3rd born.
When both his parents passed he was taken in by the grandmother together with all his siblings. He was in grade 5 by then.
Life became difficult for them and that’s how he stopped going to school and instead started doing some piece work and bits of manual labour.
But things were still hard, and so James then decided to come to Lusaka to look for greener pastures. Unfortunately he was hit by a car just barely two week into his stay here in Lusaka and he was admitted in hospital with a broken leg.
After two months he was discharged and that’s how he started coming to Chisomo to seek for any form of help. We introduced him to our tailoring program and he got interested and that’s how he started the lessons. He is in need of sewing materials to be able to carry on with this work when he has completed the program
