Hopeful Haven students

CRED has been supporting the Hopeful Haven project in Acholi Quarters, Uganda now for about 8 years, and it continues to be a blessing to so many young people who are unable to attend mainstream school for various poverty-related reasons. This is exemplified by the following three young students who love to attend Hopeful Haven (names changed to protect identity).

‘I am Ben. I am 10years old, and I am a pupil from Hopeful Haven school. I live with my mum and 8 other siblings. I have acquired basic knowledge from Hopeful Haven school and I feel blessed for your support, thank you.’

‘My name is Lily, I am 14years old and a pupil from Hopeful Haven. I live in Acholi community with some of my relatives ever since my mom passed on 5years ago from Palabek refugee camp in Lamwo. Teacher Miriam asked my relatives to allow me and my siblings to join Hopeful Haven school since we were not going to school. I want to thank you all for keeping us in school.’

‘My name is Deborah. I am 14years old and a pupil from Hopeful Haven school. I live in Acholi Quarter community with my family. Due to money we can’t afford to go to other schools, but we do manage to attend Hopeful Haven school to acquire basic knowledge on how to read, write, count and speak English. Thank you for supporting me as a girl child.’
