For over a decade, PSD Nepal has stood alongside some of the most vulnerable children in our society — those without parental care — through the compassionate support of The Unforgotten Fund (UNFF). This year, our partnership continued to bring education, care, and hope to 21 orphaned children living together at the Child Bright Future (CBF) Home in Kathmandu.
These children, once deprived of family support and stability, are now growing up in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. They attend formal schools, receive daily extra classes, and are guided in life skills that prepare them for independence. Their academic progress has been inspiring:
- Siddhartha (Babylon National School) achieved an exceptional A+ with GPA 3.95,
- Saloni (Babylon National School) earned an A with GPA 3.57,
- Shristi (Namuna English School) and Sitashma (Namuna English School) secured GPA 2.68 (B) and 2.50 (C+), respectively.
These accomplishments demonstrate both the children’s dedication and the effectiveness of continuous mentorship and support.
Beyond academics, the CBF Home ensures the children’s physical and emotional well-being. Clean water and sanitation facilities were improved, and regular sessions on health, hygiene, and child rights were conducted. These efforts create a safe and healthy environment where every child feels secure and valued.

Each child also dreams big — with ambitions as diverse as their personalities:
Suni Lama:
I am Suni Lama. I have recently completed my school level. Since my childhood I was interested in fashion designing and want to build my career as a well-known fashion designer. You can see the picture of my art competition; I tried to draw what I had envisioned. Because of the time constrain, it isn’t exactly what I’ve wanted to draw. I know, I can and I will do far better, but I need your support to achieve my goal. I want to become financially independent and help people in need. Please support me in any form to help me achieve my dream and make my future bright.
Sobha Budha:
I am Shove Budha. I am 19 years old and I have completed my +2. Now I want to study health assistant, become independent and help my brothers and sisters. So, I am preparing for it. Therefore I would be grateful and thankful if I get any kind of support that will help my future.
Soni Balika:
I am Soni Balika. I am 16 years old. I just finish my SEE. My aim is to become a nurse and work in that field. I want to help people in need and also my brothers and sisters here when I will be independent. I would appreciate any support that will help me build my career.
Saloni Balika:
It’s me Saloni Balika. I was upgraded in class 10 recently. My future aim is to become doctor. After passing SEE I will be taking science subject to achieve my goal. I want to become doctor because I want to help people who are suffering from health issues in their life. I would also love to treat my brothers and sisters like Masakkali and treat her seizure. This is why I want to become a doctor. So, please help me and support me to achieve my goal.
Nischal Balak:
I am 17 years old. Recently I heve completed my SEE and I am waiting for my result. I want to study science and set my carrier as a doctor. Once I become a doctor, I will get a job and then help my brothers and sister with their life. I would be delighted if I get any support and I will make effort as per needed.
Siddhartha Balak:
I am Siddhartha Balak studying in grade 10. I am really interested in IT and want to pursue it as my career. I love technology and want to learn a lot more about it. I think technology is super important in today’s world. Any guidance and support would mean a lot to fulfill my aspiration in the field id IT. I want to become financially secure then I will help my brothers and sisters and CBF in future with all my heart.
Together, these young souls represent the spirit of resilience and transformation. PSD Nepal and The Unforgotten Fund remain committed to nurturing them into responsible, confident, and compassionate adults. As Suni beautifully expressed, “I know I can, and I will — but I need your support to achieve my goal.”
