Agenorwot Mary is 22 years old, and completed her secondary education up to s4 (equivalent of GCSE’s) in 2023. Whilst doing her education, she lived in Acholi Quarters, but once she had finished S4, she moved to live with her grandmother in their ancestral village.
Mary stayed in touch with her friends in Acholi Quarters however, including Miriam and Harriet who are the CRED contacts. Through them Mary heard about two bursaries available for Acholi young people, to attend the Nkuru vocational college in Mityana.
Mary applied, and was successful in being awarded a bursary, and she is now full time at the college, studying fashion and design. She loves the course and is looking forward to being able to start her own small tailoring business in the future.
